BACKUP is a 2D puzzle platformer set inside a virtual computer world. You've been given a mission to retrive classified information using the latest in hacker technology. 

About the game

Guided by mysterious messages and supported by infinite backups, run, jump, and hack your way through the system. Revert to your backup copy and start over whenever you want, when things go wrong, or to solve a puzzle. Your power isn’t unlimited, so spend it wisely to open doors, disable turrets, or dodge the gaze of a turret or guard.

• Hack doors, elevators, enemies using your power resource
• Use bullet time to dodge dangers and hack mid air
• Play through 8 handmade levels with increasing difficulty
• Encounter new challenges for every level
• Solve pussels while platforming through the levels
• Enable the speedrun timer to challenge your friends

Development

The game Backup started with a small pitch that was later expanded to a full game. A group of 6 students were chosen to work on it: 3 artists and 3 programmers. The game was created during a 7-week period in November/December/January of 2022-23 at the YRGO Game Creator program in Gothenburg, Sweden.
